Hey my name is Jordan Adler and I picked up a book at a garage sale for .25 when I was just 21 years old. This book changed my life. It was called ‘The 10 Napkin Presentations’ by Don Failla. When I read it I felt like a fly trying to escape through a big picture window (have you ever seen a dead fly on a windowsill?) Ten feet away was a wide open door but I couldn’t see it because I was focused in the wrong direction!

Trying harder is not the answer. Your effort to succeed will lead nowhere if you are focused in the wrong direction!

STEP 1: Figure out what you want. What is your dream? Where do you want to live? How much money do you want to make? What experiences do you want to have? Where would you like to travel to? Write it down. It’s okay to doubt in the beginning.

After becoming part of the Virgin Galactic Civilian Space Program (Space Travel was one of my lifelong dreams!), I got an invitation to spend 10 days with Richard Branson on his Island in the British Virgin Islands. I had to pinch myself!

STEP 2: GET A MENTOR – Find someone that you can trust that has your best interest in mind and will guide you along the way. A team of mentors is even better. There are a ton of ‘fakes’ out there. Make sure that whoever you listen to has actually done it. Beware of “The Emperor that has no Clothes”!

After watching the helicopter tours over Vegas I decided I wanted to learn to fly for fun! It was the hardest thing I ever learned to do but I’m now a licensed pilot! Fortunately I had good mentors! I wouldn’t want to learn to fly with someone who had not done it successfully! Having the best mentors is important!

STEP 3: FOCUS ON RELATIONSHIPS FIRST! Think about it . . . everything good that has ever happened to you is a result of meeting one person. You met the right person at the right time (I’m counting on me being one of those people for YOU!) You must have a SYSTEM to rapidly expand your network and make sure the people in it feel remembered and appreciated by you. There is bad-ass technology out there that can help you do this! STEP 4: FIND A VEHICLE – If you are looking for financial independence and freedom make sure the vehicle you choose is somewhat virtual and can travel with you using technology. Watch out for labor intensive businesses where you have to do all the work. They can suck you dry. Online marketing businesses are great because they represent the present and the future. Most traditional offline businesses can cost $20K to $250K or more to start and thousands in monthly overhead. You should be able to start an ONLINE BUSINESS for a couple hundred bucks a month.
And remember you can’t go from LA to NYC on a moped. Wouldn’t you rather be on a high performance Gulfstream Jet? Your vehicle matters!

CAUTION: Some businesses will choke you out as you become more successful. Find a business that gives you MORE freedom as you grow vs. a business that takes away your freedom as you become more successful.

Periodically I like to run “Masterminds by Private Jet”. It’s really fun and all of us grow like crazy! We usually fly to the beach. Have an exotic lunch and share powerful ideas. Back the same day. STEP 5: GET OBSESSED – I haven’t met too many marketers (offline or online) that aren’t insanely passionate about what they are doing. It’s not work for them. You’ll want to get really excited about your plan and your future. You’ll tell others about it because you believe in it and you know how much it will help them. Life never gets boring when you run a business that helps people and gives you the freedom to live life on your terms!

I recently discovered something that I believe has explosive potential. As far as I can see, no one else is doing it. It’s still an invisible opportunity to most. After sharing this concept with a very successful and close friend, he fell back in his chair and said, ‘Jordan, do you know how big this is?’ I said ‘YES’!!

I may take some flack for this but what worked in the past may not be working so well today. I have always been an off-line marketer.
